So the political drama inside Trinamool Congress is getting more intense now . Suspended leader Riju Dutta has made one huge claim that around 50 MLAs are thinking of splitting from party.
And they are even planning to call their new group the ‘Asli Trinamool Congress’ . This whole thing is coming just after two other MLAs,Ritabrata Banerjee and Sandipan Saha, were expelled for so-called anti-party activities.
Dutta is even comparing this situation to what happened with Shiv Sena in Maharashtra . And honestly, that comparison alone is very serious. He is basically hinting at a massive fracture inside West Bengal's ruling party.
According to Dutta, all these unhappy MLAs had some kind of meeting recently . He said,“It has come to light that yesterday afternoon, under leadership of Sandipan Saha and Ritabrata Banerjee, around 50 MLAs have conducted a meeting, either on phone or in person.”
And tbh, this is where things get really uncomfortable for the party leadership. 50 MLAs is not small number ah .
If this is true,it means the dissent inside Trinamool is much deeper than anyone thought . It's not just one or two leaders,it's a whole group apparently .
Few things standing out from Dutta's claims:
- Around 50 MLAs are reportedly planning to form a new faction.
- The split is being compared to Shiv Sena crisis in Maharashtra.
- Recently expelled leaders Saha and Banerjee are allegedly leading this move .
But the main reason for all this anger seems to be something else . Dutta claims many leaders are not happy with Abhishek Banerjee and how I-PAC was "imposed on them" . He even said, “I have personal information that many of party leaders are angry against (Trinamool general secretary and MP) Abhishek Banerjee and against the I-PAC,for the way I-PAC was imposed on them.”
They are also apparently thinking of claiming original Trinamool symbol if they split . That would start a whole new legal battle, just like we saw in Maharashtra.
It’s all becoming very messy, with expulsions, complaints of signature forgery, and now these open threats of a split . The whole thing feels like it's been building up for long time .
Now the real question is whether this is just pressure tactic by angry leaders,or if a real split is actually going to happen…
