So finally big news from Karnataka is here . Siddaramaiah and D.K. Shivakumar are on their way back to Bengaluru after all those hectic meetings in New Delhi. The suspense over cabinet is almost over .
Their special flight left from Indira Gandhi International Airport at 7:30 PM on June 2,2026 . It is scheduled to land at HAL Airport around 10 PM same night only.
And now the real action begins . The swearing-in ceremony for new ministers is apparently planned for following evening at Lok Bhavan. Everyone is just waiting for the final list of names to be announced .
During their time in the capital, both leaders had long discussions with Congress Central leadership to decide who will be in Shivakumar’s Cabinet. This whole process took so much time .
The inside news is that around 14 ministers will take oath in this first phase . They are not filling all spots at once.
Few things seem clear from Delhi meetings:
- Cabinet to include 14 ministers — as per discussions held in New Delhi.
- Focus on new faces — the Congress aims to refresh its leadership with younger ministers.
- Strategic Cabinet expansion — further appointments may follow after upcoming elections .
And honestly, this is where things get complicated. The party is trying to do balancing act, mixing seasoned politicians with some newcomers . This is all for the big 2028 Karnataka Assembly elections. They want to show a fresh approach.
But this is never easy ah .
Already there is so much speculation about who will get these important roles . Senior leaders like former Speaker U.T. Khader have said they have aspirations for a big position, but he also clarified that he had not received any formal communication yet . Then you have veterans like R.V . Deshapande who just says he will abide by whatever the party high command decides.
This whole strategy is about building a united team for next election . They need to show effective governance if they want to regain public trust . But with so many powerful leaders wanting a ministry, wonder how they will manage all the expectations…
