Rajasthan weather has suddenly turned scary,and honestly,this does not look like normal dust storm situation at all . Strong Western Disturbance has pushed severe sandstorms and gusty winds across state,and daily life in many districts seems badly disturbed.
From Saturday itself,things started getting messy in several places . Churu,Hanumangarh and Jaipur were among areas hit hard,with wind speeds reportedly touching 56 kilometers per hour . That is not small thing ah,especially when dust starts flying everywhere and visibility drops suddenly.
And the visuals from Sri Ganganagar,Bikaner and Nagaur sound really intense . Dust storms moved through these regions and motorists had to switch on headlights during daytime only because visibility became so poor . Imagine driving in middle of day but road looking like evening storm scene .
In Jaipur's Jhotwara area,intense winds continued for nearly ten minutes,and that was enough to create chaos around . In Sri Ganganagar,dust clouds reportedly covered city around 11 AM,almost like one massive sandstorm . Similar scenes were also seen in Churu and Bikaner.
Few things standing out clearly in this weather situation:
- Red Alert issued for severe weather,with caution advised in affected districts.
- Wind speeds expected to reach 80 km/h in several areas.
- Sudden storms have given some relief from heatwave across Rajasthan .
The Meteorological Department issued Red Alert for Sri Ganganagar,Hanumangarh,Bikaner and Churu,effective for three hours . At same time,Orange Alert was announced for Dausa and Alwar . So this is not just one local dust storm,it is wider weather trouble across Rajasthan rn.
And tbh,the part that feels most worrying is warning between 4 PM and 7 PM . Severe storm activity was predicted during this window,with wind speeds potentially reaching between 90 and 100 kilometers per hour . That kind of wind can easily damage weak structures,trees,hoardings and create risky road conditions.
But there is one strange side to this also . After days of intense heatwave,sudden storm has brought some relief from heat in many parts of state . Still,relief from heat does not mean situation is safe,because storm itself is creating its own danger.
Disaster Management Department is continuing to monitor situation and fresh warnings are being issued as needed . Residents have been urged to stay indoors and remain alert while storm system moves ahead.
