One more serious anti-terror operation has now come out from Rajasthan, and honestly, this one feels worrying because whole thing is not limited to one place only . National Investigation Agency ( NIA ) carried out multiple raids in Ajmer and Neemrana on May 29, 2026,and focus is on suspected links to Pakistan -based terrorist Shahzad Bhatti .
And from what is being reported, this operation is connected to alleged terror-funding activities and procurement of weapons by operatives linked to Bhatti . What makes it even more uncomfortable is mention of drone technology, because that means agencies are not just looking at normal local contacts, but possible cross-border style network also .
In Ajmer,NIA team reached one rented residence in Ambika Vihar Colony and detained Parmesh Meena after extensive questioning . Meena is originally from Bhilwara ,and investigators reportedly found that he was in contact with Bhatti through social media . That one detail itself is enough to raise alarm ah,because online links are becoming main entry point in such cases.
During questioning, officials found that Meena was involved in debt recovery work and was also frequently engaging in online gaming activities . Authorities seized his mobile devices and call records for analysis . And tbh, this is where matter becomes bigger than just one person's phone or chat history.
Few things standing out in this operation:
- Extensive questioning of locals was done by NIA and police to uncover further connections.
- Investigators are tracing online networks allegedly used to lure young individuals into network.
- Raids were also conducted in Uttar Pradesh ,Bihar , and Maharashtra at same time.
But Ajmer was not only place in Rajasthan where action happened . In Neemrana,NIA raided home of Nandkishore Sain ,father of arrested suspect Shubham Kumar . Shubham Kumar was apprehended with an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) earlier this year, and that detail makes Neemrana raid look very serious.
This raid reportedly happened around 4:30 AM and continued for nearly two hours . Several documents were collected as evidence, and Nandkishore was taken for questioning as part of investigation into his son's alleged connections with terrorist activities . Early morning raid itself shows agencies were not treating this casually .
And bigger picture is even more disturbing . This whole action is part of broader crackdown after earlier detentions of youths from Sri Ganganagar who were linked to Bhatti's online activities . Intelligence reports suggest such networks may be trying to exploit young individuals by promising financial gains in exchange for involvement.
Local police are closely monitoring developments while NIA continues checking cross-border links and possible funding sources . But real question is how many young people are already being pulled into these online networks before anyone around them even notices…
