This Delhi case is honestly quite disturbing because it is not about one random arrest or small local gang issue . On May 30,Delhi Police Special Cell arrested nine individuals allegedly linked to a Pakistan-based network connected with ISI and Dawood Ibrahim, and that combination itself is enough to make people uneasy.
As per police, whole thing came out after long surveillance and intelligence gathering . Investigators reportedly found nearly 600 individuals across country who had been in contact with gangster Shahzad Bhatti through different communication channels, especially social media .
And this is where matter becomes more serious ah . Among those arrested were Sajid Mehboob Sheikh, alias Arbaz Khan, from Kurla,Mumbai, and Tauqeer Rizwan Sheikh, from Mumbra . Both were taken to Delhi for further investigation.
Police believe these suspects were told to travel to capital for mission assignments . Authorities also suspect they were funded for travel and operational activities, which means this was not looking like random planning done overnight only.
Few things standing out clearly in this case:
- Nine individuals were arrested on May 30 by Delhi Police Special Cell.
- Nearly 600 individuals across country were reportedly in contact with gangster Shahzad Bhatti.
- Alleged targets included nuclear facilities, airports and railway stations .
What makes this even more worrying is recovery of large quantity of firearms . Police have not just spoken about some vague threat, they have also seized weapons, and naturally question becomes what exactly was planned with them .
Delhi is now on high alert because intelligence inputs have warned about possible terror threats . Reports say group was allegedly planning coordinated strikes in crowded areas of Delhi, using methods like suicide attacks and improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
Investigators are also checking possible cross-border connections and funding channels behind this module . It was reportedly cultivated over prolonged period by operatives of Pakistani intelligence, which makes whole thing feel much bigger than just few people being caught .
All district police units in Delhi have now been told to stay in close coordination with intelligence agencies and central paramilitary forces . Authorities are also watching encrypted online platforms and social media networks because recruitment and radicalization can happen quietly there before anyone even notices.
And tbh, this is the scary part now… if nearly 600 people were in touch through different channels, how many were just chatting, and how many actually knew what was being planned?
