Rajasthan weather has suddenly become serious topic again,and honestly,after days of heatwave,this alert from India Meteorological Department (IMD) feels like both relief and warning at same time . Rain is good,but thunderstorms,hail and 60–70 kmph winds are not small thing ah .
IMD has said multiple divisions in Rajasthan may see thunderstorms and rainfall because of Western Disturbance . State was already struggling with extreme heat,and now this system is expected to bring down maximum temperatures over next four to five days.
Over past 24 hours,several districts already got rainfall . Bari in Dholpur reported highest rainfall at 58 mm . That is not just light drizzle,it clearly shows weather has started shifting properly.
And tbh,this change is coming with some risk also . IMD has predicted intense thunderstorms and squalls with wind speeds reaching 60–70 kmph in Bikaner,Jaipur,Ajmer,Bharatpur,Kota,Jodhpur,and Udaipur divisions . Afternoon thunderstorm activity may continue,with heavy rainfall in isolated areas and chance of hailstorms and lightning strikes.
Few things standing out clearly in this weather update:
- The current weather is influenced by a cyclonic circulation over northwest Uttar Pradesh.
- Northeastern districts have recorded temperature declines of up to 10 degrees Celsius.
- Storms have affected districts like Sri Ganganagar and Udaipur since Saturday morning.
The biggest relief part is temperature drop . IMD says maximum temperatures across most parts of Rajasthan are expected to remain below 44 degrees Celsius for coming days . After brutal heat earlier,this is actually big break for people who were dealing with harsh daytime conditions.
In recent days,Churu,Hanumangarh,Bikaner,and Jaipur have seen storms along with hail,which caused sharp decline in daytime temperatures . So yes,weather has cooled down,but it is not exactly calm weather either.
Sri Ganganagar also saw sudden dust storm around 11 A.M.,and reports said conditions looked almost like sand tornadoes . That kind of scene can turn dangerous quickly,especially for people travelling or working outside.
