Exam day pressure is already too much, and then morning shift getting delayed by approximately two hours because of technical issue is not small thing ah.
Tata Consultancy Services ( TCS ) has now acknowledged that problem happened at their end during Common University Entrance Test ( CUET )-UG . In statement,K. Krithivasan, the CEO and Managing Director of TCS,expressed regret for inconvenience caused and said their technical teams identified and addressed issue quickly.
But still, for students sitting inside exam centre, those two hours must have felt very long . You prepare for months, reach centre early, manage nerves, and suddenly system issue comes in between .
National Testing Agency ( NTA ) also issued statement and called it "technical glitch" at TCS's end . NTA said issue was resolved and all affected candidates would get compensatory time so that no one is disadvantaged because of delay.
Few things standing out clearly here:
- TCS confirmed technical issue caused approximately two hours delay .
- NTA said affected candidates would receive full duration of exam .
- NTA assured that no student will be disadvantaged.
And honestly, that compensatory time part matters most . Because CUET-UG is not some casual test,it decides admission path for many students trying for undergraduate courses across universities.
This exam matters even more for students from rural and remote areas . For many of them,CUET-UG is one big chance to connect with universities across country, and any disruption on exam day can feel unfair even if extra time is later given .
The registration process for CUET-UG 2026 began in early April, and previous year itself saw over 13.54 lakh students registering for exam . So when such huge number of students depend on one system, technical readiness cannot be treated lightly.
TCS and NTA are saying issue was handled and exam integrity was maintained . Fine. But students will still ask same basic question after this: if such glitches happen on high-pressure national exam day,how many times can “resolved shortly” really calm everyone down…
