Bihar politics has again got one very heated bungalow issue,and honestly,this 10 Circular Road matter is not looking like simple house allotment dispute anymore . Former Chief Minister Rabri Devi refusing to vacate after final notice has turned it into full political face-off.
The government bungalow located at 10 Circular Road in Patna is currently occupied by Rabri Devi . State government has sent final notice asking her to leave,but she has openly said she will not vacate and has challenged government to take action if needed.
And this is where matter becomes uncomfortable because this is not just about one residence now . It is about power,symbolism,old political legacy and also question of whether former officials should follow same rules like everyone else.
Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary has said government is going by law and administrative process . His point is clear,every citizen,including former officials,is expected to follow legal provisions linked to government accommodations.
Few things standing out clearly in this case:
- Alternative housing has reportedly been allocated to Rabri Devi .
- Building Construction Department has already sent three notices regarding vacating bungalow.
- Controversy is now being seen as test of political ethics and respect for administrative norms .
But Rabri Devi’s side is clearly not backing down rn . Her refusal has given opposition one more chance to frame this as political pressure,while ruling side is insisting it is just administrative matter and nothing more .
JD(U) Chief Spokesperson Neeraj Kumar has also attacked her stand strongly . He questioned her motives and pointed out that she has been offered alternative accommodation,and there are also ongoing construction projects for additional residences in area .
He also dragged issue of RJD leadership’s landholdings into debate,basically suggesting that housing distress argument does not really fit here . That kind of remark only makes political temperature rise more,no doubt.
And tbh,10 Circular Road is not just random address in Bihar politics . It has long been linked with Rabri Devi and Lalu Prasad Yadav,the RJD chief,so vacating it also carries emotional and political weight for their supporters.
Still,at same time,government accommodation rules exist for reason only . If one side makes it prestige issue and other side pushes hard in name of procedure,this bungalow can easily become bigger flashpoint than anyone expected…
So question now is simple but tricky: will this end with legal action,political compromise,or another long Bihar-style confrontation over one address…
