This Chamoli accident is honestly very painful to read,because it was not just normal road mishap . Three members of same family died while they were already carrying grief from funeral in Dehradun . That part makes whole thing feel even heavier.
On May 30,2026,a vehicle in Chamoli,Uttarakhand reportedly plunged into gorge approximately 400-500 metres deep . Incident happened around 5:50 AM in forested area near Lwani village,and after that rescue teams had to rush in quickly .
According to officials,vehicle veered off road and fell into gorge . In mountain roads,one small mistake or one moment of sleep can become deadly,and here initial reports suggest driver fatigue may have been reason . Not small thing ah,especially at early morning hour .
Balbir Singh,aged 52,was reportedly transporting remains of deceased family member back to their village after funeral in Dehradun . With him were family members,including his wife Shanti Devi and son Anshu Bisht . And then this happened on way back only.

Sub-Inspector in charge of Dewal Police Outpost,Sandeep Devrani,promptly alerted Station House Officer (SHO) of Tharali,and request was made to deploy District Disaster Response Force (DDRF) team.
Authorities are now conducting thorough investigation to find exact cause of accident . Legal procedures are being followed,and officials have said investigation is underway . But rn,first thing that comes to mind is how dangerous these hill roads can become when tiredness,morning travel and sharp turns come together.
This tragedy has shocked local community,and it is easy to understand why . One family was already returning from last rites,and before they could even reach home,another tragedy hit them on same journey…
