Indian Consulate in Toronto has now stepped in to help family of Vidhi Megha,who lost her life in Niagara region on May 15 . Consulate expressed condolences and said it will give full support to bereaved family during this difficult time.
In social media statement,consulate said,"We are deeply saddened by the news of Vidhi's death and extend our solidarity to her family." They are in touch with Vidhi's family both in India and Canada,and are also helping with arrangements to bring her mortal remains back to India.
And this part feels very heavy,because family is not only dealing with loss,but also paperwork,funeral arrangements and distance . Consulate is working closely with local funeral home to complete process.
Vidhi's father told IANS that she had been studying in Canada for four years and was a vibrant part of community . He also said,"She had a bright future ahead of her,and it’s devastating to lose her in such a violent manner." That one line says enough about family's pain.

According to Niagara Regional Police Service,officers reached a residence in St Catharines after reports of two individuals without signs of life . When they arrived,they found Vidhi deceased and homicide unit took charge of investigation. An adult male was also found at scene and taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
And rn,whole local community in Niagara is in shock over loss of promising young life . For Indian families sending children abroad,this kind of news hits different only,because safety,loneliness and distance all become part of same fear.
