It clearly has emotion, politics, faith, forest rules and old anger all mixed together in one place.
On May 30 ,2026,members of Gurjar community gathered to unveil statues of Colonel Kirori Singh Bainsla and other martyrs from their reservation agitation . Ceremony was led by Bainsla's son,Vijay Singh Bainsla ,and it happened with religious rituals and Vedic chants.
But at same time, this was not normal peaceful community function also . Whole event took place under strict security because tensions between Gurjar community and local authorities are already running high.
Main problem is installation site . Administration had earlier raised concerns because location falls within Critical Tiger Habitat (CTH) zone of Ranthambore Tiger Reserve . And yes, protected tiger reserve area is not small thing ah,so authorities are saying permanent structures cannot be allowed there.
Few things standing out clearly here:
- Families of martyrs participated in unveiling alongside community leaders.
- Around 1,000 police personnel were deployed to maintain order during event .
- Gurjar community continues to advocate for memorial at original protest site .
Vijay Singh Bainsla also made it clear that families of martyrs had to be part of ceremony, not just leaders on stage . His words were,“We will unveil these statues together . Every martyr’s family must be part of this moment.” And that line shows why community is treating this as emotional memory, not just political demand.
And this is where things get uncomfortable . Administration is looking at rules of protected area, while Gurjar community is looking at sacrifice, faith and respect for people who died during agitation . Both sides are not even speaking same emotional language right now.
Bainsla also criticized government stance and compared demand with Ram Temple in Ayodhya, saying their demand for memorial is equally valid . That comparison itself shows how strongly community wants this place to be seen as matter of faith and identity, not just land-use permission .
But then question is also stuck there only… if administration refuses permanent structure in protected area and community refuses to step back from original protest site, how does this not turn into another long confrontation…
