One disturbing abduction case has come out from Coimbatore,and honestly,it feels like one personal dispute suddenly turned into full public safety issue . Peelamedu police have arrested nine individuals after local tea stall owner Velmurugan was allegedly taken away from Cheran Maa Nagar .
The incident reportedly happened on night of June 17,2026 . Velmurugan,aged 34,was at his stall when group allegedly forced him into car and demanded ₹2 lakh for legal expenses linked to old agreement.
And this background makes whole matter even more strange . Reports say Velmurugan had earlier arrangement with his friend Nagaraj,who was in Coimbatore Central Prison . Understanding was simple only,the first one to get bail would help other person come out .
But after Velmurugan got bail in December 2025,he allegedly did not help Nagaraj . That seems to have angered Nagaraj's friends badly,and instead of taking legal route,they allegedly chose abduction.
Police investigation says seven individuals came in car and took Velmurugan away . During abduction,he was reportedly assaulted also,which makes this not small thing ah . Somehow,Velmurugan managed to escape from captors and later filed complaint with Peelamedu police.
