This Kancheepuram school incident honestly feels very uncomfortable, because politics entering classroom during school hours is not small thing ah . On June 21,2026 ,a group of functionaries from TVK (Tamilaga Valvu Kuzhu) entered Thalavarampoondi Panchayat Union Primary School in Kancheepuram district, and whole thing created big disruption.
Their aim was to display official portrait of Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay inside classroom . Maybe they thought it was simple political gesture, but school is not party office no . Students were there, classes were going on,and suddenly party functionaries entering space like this naturally triggered anger .
Video footage of event also started circulating fast on social media platforms . In that video,TVK members were seen interacting with students, and many locals felt this was inappropriate . And honestly, that reaction is understandable.
Because children should not be pulled into political display like this . They may not even understand what is happening fully, but adults around them are using school space to send political message .
Local DMK (Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam) members responded quickly and objected to TVK's actions . They also raised issue of party shawls being worn on school grounds, which again makes whole scene look more political than anything educational .
Few things standing out clearly here:
- TVK functionaries entered Thalavarampoondi Panchayat Union Primary School during school hours.
- They tried to display official portrait of Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay in classroom.
- DMK officials submitted formal complaint to Kancheepuram Collector seeking prompt action .
And tbh, this is where bigger Tamil Nadu political tension becomes visible . TVK and DMK rivalry is already sharp, and now school children are somehow getting caught in middle of that fight . That is not good sign.
DMK officials argued that political activities should not interfere with educational environment . They demanded disciplinary measures against TVK members for disruptive behavior, and local community concerns also went in same direction.
At same time, this incident raises bigger question about how often educational institutions are becoming stages for political expression in Tamil Nadu . Classrooms should feel neutral and safe for students, not like place where party rivalry suddenly enters.
Now complaint has gone to Kancheepuram Collector, and people are waiting to see what action comes next . But one question stays hanging… if schools also become political ground, then where exactly are children supposed to stay away from all this?
