Now Lella Appi Reddy,State general secretary of YSR Congress Party,has written to Vivek Yadav,the Chief Electoral Officer of Andhra Pradesh,over concerns linked to Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls .
On June 20,2026,Reddy reached out through letter and raised issue of what he called serious lapses in process . His main point was that Booth Level Officers (BLOs) should be allowed to function without interruption,because these people are directly handling voter-level work on ground.
And tbh,this is not small thing ah . If BLO work gets disturbed or influenced,then whole voter list exercise can become messy very quickly.
Reddy asked for standardized procedures for distribution and collection of enumeration forms across state . Basically,he wants same method everywhere so voters are not confused and process does not change from one area to another.
Few demands standing out clearly here:
- Statewide voter awareness campaign aimed at increasing public engagement in elections.
- Uniform procedures for enumeration to standardize electoral roll revision process.
- Alternative arrangements for remote areas to ensure inclusivity of all voters.
But most uncomfortable part is his concern about political operatives allegedly handling enumeration forms . Reddy said complaints on this should be properly investigated,because if such things happen,it can create electoral irregularities and damage trust in entire process.
He also asked Election Commission to stop political interference in BLO operations . And honestly,that line matters because election machinery is supposed to look neutral,not like it is being pulled by party workers from any side .
Another point he raised was about voter photographs . Reddy proposed that photographs of voters should be collected only through designated application forms,so voter database remains authentic and not casually handled by random channels.
He also stressed that electoral rolls should be updated and then shared with recognized political parties and their authorized booth-level agents . That part is about transparency,so everyone knows what changes happened and who got added or removed .
In end,Reddy pushed for immediate action from Election Commission,calling for free,fair and transparent electoral revision process in Andhra Pradesh . But bigger question is still hanging there… if even voter list process becomes political battlefield,where does ordinary voter stand?
