Because for people travelling daily or during festival rush,small railway decisions are not small thing ah.
Samastipur Divisional Parliamentary Committee met on June 20,2026,at Mehendrughat in Patna . Members of Parliament from constituencies within Samastipur Division joined meeting,and it was chaired by Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare,Shri Ram Nath Thakur.
Main discussion was around railway infrastructure development and better passenger services . And honestly,this is one area where people always have complaints,especially in Bihar where train travel is part of daily life for so many families.
Rajya Sabha MP Prof. Manoj Kumar Jha and other members also gave suggestions during meeting . Senior officials were present too,including East Central Railway General Manager Shri Chhatrasal Singh and Samastipur Divisional Railway Manager Shri Jyoti Prakash Mishra.
Few things standing out clearly from meeting:
- Infrastructure development projects were discussed with focus on faster action.
- Passenger amenities enhancement came up through suggestions for better services.
- Chhath festival arrangements included operation of 197 additional special trains .
And tbh,that Chhath point matters a lot . During Chhath festival season,passenger rush becomes crazy and families often struggle badly for confirmed tickets,space and basic comfort. So 197 additional special trains is not just number on paper,it can actually reduce pressure if managed properly.
Samastipur Division has also introduced modern train services,including eight Amrit Bharat trains and two Vande Bharat trains . These are being presented as affordable and safe travel options,which sounds good,but real test is always how service performs on ground only .
General Manager Shri Chhatrasal Singh thanked MPs for their suggestions and said their inputs would help shape future railway development plans in region . That is usual official line,but still,if suggestions actually turn into visible station upgrades,better trains and smoother festival movement,people will notice.
And this is where question remains . Will all these plans move fast enough for passengers who are dealing with crowding,delays and basic facility issues every season,or will it stay mostly inside meeting notes…
