This Vizianagaram fertiliser update may sound like routine govt announcement at first, but for farmers, this is not small thing ah . Collector S. Ramsundar Reddy saying fertiliser allocation for upcoming Kharif season will be done online means whole old crowding and confusion system may finally change a bit.
Speaking on June 22,2026,Reddy said this online method is aimed at bringing more transparency and making sure supply is linked to farmers' landholdings . And honestly, any farmer who has stood in line at distribution points or branches of Vizianagaram District Marketing Cooperative Societies knows how messy things can get during season time.
Vizianagaram usually needs around 88,000 tonnes of fertiliser during Kharif season . That is not small quantity, and if distribution goes wrong even for few days,it directly hits sowing plans and farmer confidence .
This time, farmers have to register through E-Panta system to get their allocated fertiliser . Idea is that farmers can order according to their actual requirement instead of running behind officials or waiting at centres without clarity .
Few key points standing out here:
- Registration required under E-Panta — Farmers must register to access fertiliser allocation.
- ₹149.84 crore allocated — Funds are designated for 2,27,700 farmers under PM-Kisan and Annadata Sukhibhava.
- Crop planning advised — Farmers should consult agriculture officials on crop selection based on weather forecasts.
But fertiliser is only one part of bigger worry right now . Reddy also talked about upcoming agricultural challenges because of anticipated El Nino effect, and that is where farmers may have to be extra careful this season.
India Meteorological Department (IMD) has indicated possible changes in rainfall patterns . Reddy said farmers should choose crops wisely, especially because even though Thotapalli reservoir can provide water, there may be expected drop in rainfall due to El Nino.
Cheepurupalli MLA Kimidi Kala Venkata Rao also gave similar advice, asking farmers to think about both short- and long-term crop strategies so income remains steady throughout year . Sounds practical, but on ground, farmers still need timely information, proper supply and working digital access .
And that is real question here . Online allocation can reduce chaos, tbh, but will every farmer be able to register smoothly through E-Panta and get fertiliser on time when weather itself is becoming unpredictable…
