This whole Shiv Sena (UBT) situation is again getting messy, and Aaditya Thackeray clearly did not hold back this time . On June 22, 2026,he went after rebel party MPs in very direct way, basically saying personal greed has taken over ideology and commitment .
And honestly, this kind of political switch always creates same uncomfortable question for voters also . If someone gets elected on one platform and later jumps to opposite side, then what exactly happens to mandate people gave?
Aaditya Thackeray,MLA of the Shiv Sena (UBT),posted on X during ongoing tension inside party after several MPs reportedly moved toward faction led by Eknath Shinde . This is being linked with so-called "Operation Tiger," where multiple MPs are shifting allegiance.
His attack was sharp only . He said these lawmakers are proving that loyalty and reputation are "for sale" and accused government of using public resources for political advantage . His exact words were,"To greedy MPs who have hopped over, you only prove the following, stronger than before: your loyalty, your reputation is for sale, shamelessly."
Few things standing out clearly in this political fight:
- Accusations of betrayal — Thackeray claims rebel MPs have abandoned their voters.
- Potential disqualification — The party warns absentee MPs of action under Anti-Defection Law.
- Political turmoil intensifies — Ongoing defections raise concerns within the Shiv Sena (UBT).
And tbh,the strongest part of his argument is voter betrayal angle . Thackeray said these MPs were elected with backing of Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA),had campaigned against NDA,and now their actions are completely opposite to what voters supported.
He also pointed out that voters had rejected NDA candidates, but now same elected MPs are allegedly going toward side they fought against . He said,"All of ones that are jumping over now were elected on the platforms of MVA and the INDIA," and that line pretty much sums up his anger.
But this is not just social media attack now . Shiv Sena (UBT) has also issued fresh show-cause notices to absentee MPs,with warning of disqualification under Anti-Defection Law . Chief Whip Anil Desai asked MPs to give written explanation within 24 hours for missing crucial parliamentary meeting.
And warning is not small thing ah . If they fail to respond,it may be treated as voluntary relinquishment of party membership . So now fight is happening both publicly and procedurally.
At same time, ordinary voters are left watching this whole drama and wondering whether ideology even matters anymore,or whether elected seats have simply become bargaining chips in bigger power game…
