This Lucknow incident is honestly very painful to even read . A six-year-old boy killed because heavy iron gate at Bachpan Day Care Centre collapsed on him while he was playing nearby… how does anyone even explain this to family?
On May 30 ,this tragic event happened in Lucknow,Uttar Pradesh . Child was near gate of day care centre when it suddenly fell on him . And this was not some random small object ah,it was heavy iron gate .
What is making people more angry is claim that gate was already in bad condition . Relatives of boy are saying complaints were made earlier also, but authorities did not act . If that is true, then this is not just accident,it becomes failure of basic responsibility.
His mother’s words are heartbreaking: "My son was playing right there. The gate was in a dilapidated condition . Everyone had been informing authorities, but the government did not listen. When the child touched the gate,it fell on my child."
Few things standing out clearly in this case:
- Previous complaints about gate's poor condition were allegedly ignored.
- Local officials are currently examining how gate collapsed .
- Earlier this month,a five-year-old boy in Noida also died after heavy gate fell on him .
Witnesses also described same kind of scene . One neighbor said, "The boy went to play at 9 a.m. in the morning and was playing near gate of the day care centre. gate, which was already in a dilapidated condition, suddenly fell on him."
People did try to rush him to hospital, but he was declared dead on arrival . That part hits differently because in few seconds, normal morning playtime turned into something no parent should ever face .
Sadar Sub-Divisional Magistrate Manoj Singh confirmed incident and said,"CCTV footage showed that a child was trying to open it. However, why the gate collapsed is a matter of investigation." He also assured family that they would receive necessary support from administration .
And tbh, this is where anger feels justified . Facilities meant for children, especially those caring for special needs children, cannot be left with broken gates and ignored warnings . If parents are trusting such places with their children, safety has to be first thing only .
But now one child is gone, another similar case already happened in Noida earlier this month, and officials are again saying investigation will happen . How many warnings are needed before someone actually fixes dangerous things before tragedy happens…
