So this news about Pawan Kalyan's Jana Sena Party getting denied permission for a meeting is making some waves . And honestly,it feels a bit strange just before Telangana Formation Day celebrations.
The whole thing started when JSP wanted to hold a public meeting,the 'Telangana Nava Nirmana Sankalpa Sabha',on June 2 . They had planned it at the Sandhya Convention Center in Gachibowli and were expecting about 2,000 people to attend.
But Cyberabad Police straight up said no . The official reason given was concerns for law and order . Deputy Commissioner of Police CH. Srinivas communicated that allowing meeting could potentially disturb public peace. Not a small thing ah.
And tbh,this is where it gets complicated. A political party being told they can't have a meeting... it always raises questions.
So JSP didn't just accept this,they went to the Telangana High Court . But even the court ruled against their petition. They said the petition did not meet the criteria for an urgent hearing,which basically supported the police decision.
Couple of things are clear from this situation:
- JSP's petition was dismissed by High Court because it wasn't considered urgent .
- Cyberabad Police cited possible law and order problems as their main reason for denial.
- Pawan Kalyan's response was to hold press meet at his residence instead.
Naturally,Pawan Kalyan was disappointed with the whole thing . He announced he would address media at his home in Jubilee Hills later that day only. He made it a point to say that Jana Sena "originated from the soil of Telangana" and is committed to the state's people.
He also said the party would keep working to "uphold self-respect of Telangana" and for its holistic development . In end,JSP leaders celebrated Telangana Formation Day at their state office in Kukatpally,paying tribute to the movement's heroes .
Even his statement on X was about party's resolve to address concerns of Telangana's citizens . They are trying to show they are not backing down .
But still,you have to wonder what real reason was . Was it genuinely law and order risk,or is there some other political calculation happening behind scenes… it’s hard to say for sure.
