Just read about this tragic incident from Delhi and it's just so disturbing . A 17-year-old student,Sai,was shot dead over a dispute about seating arrangements in eatery . I mean,a chair… how does a fight over a chair lead to someone losing their life .
The whole horrible episode started at an eatery in southeast Delhi's Amar Colony . Apparently,Sai confronted group of young men after they brushed past his chair . What should have been a small argument just escalated into something unbelievable.
And this is where things get really dark .
Instead of just words, one of the accused, who is a minor, allegedly just pulled out a gun and opened fire . Sai was hit with two bullets to the head . It's just terrifying to think how quickly this happened.
The poor boy fought for his life for six days after the shooting but ultimately he couldn't survive . This has obviously led to a lot of public anger, and everyone is demanding justice for him and his family.
Police have made some arrests . Deputy Commissioner of Police for Crime Branch,Harsh Indora, confirmed that main accused, the minor,is in custody . They caught him within 24 hours only . Two other suspects were arrested on May 30,but one person is still absconding.
Few things standing out clearly in this case:
- The entire fight started over very small issue of seating at a restaurant .
- The main accused is minor, and police are now trying to ensure he faces trial as an adult.
- Authorities have seized the firearm used in the crime and are searching for a fourth suspect.
And the family's reaction is just heartbreaking to read about . Sai's grandmother is asking for accountability, and his father has said accused should face consequences like criminals in Uttar Pradesh, referencing those encounter killings . You can feel the helplessness and rage in their words.
Honestly, this whole case just brings up so many uncomfortable questions about youth violence rn . Where are these kids getting guns from ah? And this level of ego, that you would kill someone for brushing past your chair… it's scary trend.
The police say they are pushing to have the minor tried as an adult, which is a big deal . But you have to wonder if that alone can solve the deeper issue here . What is making young people so angry and violent… that is the real question I guess…
