So India has once again had to tell other countries to basically mind their own business, especially on Kashmir issue .
This whole thing started after one recent joint statement from Pakistan and the European Union (EU) which had some "unwarranted references" about Jammu and Kashmir. And obviously,New Delhi was not happy about it.
Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson,Randhir Jaiswal, made India's position very clear during a weekly media briefing . He said that matters of Jammu and Kashmir are strictly internal to India and outside commentary is just not welcome .
And honestly, this is not a new thing ah.
Jaiswal put it very plainly, saying Jammu and Kashmir, along with Ladakh, are integral and inalienable parts of India . This has been the government's position for long time.
He even used this one very firm quote: "Those who have no locus standi on such matters should desist from making any comment on them" . That's a very direct message .
So few things standing out here:
- India totally rejected references to J&K in Pak-EU statement .
- MEA stated clearly that J&K is India's internal matter only.
- This is consistent response, similar to what happened with China-Pakistan statement last week.
This all came after the 8th Pakistan-EU Strategic Dialogue, where Pakistan apparently briefed EU officials about situation in J&K . And it's not first time this month either. Just last week only,India had to condemn similar references in a joint statement from China and Pakistan .
It feels like a broken record at this point . India's stand on Kashmir has been same for decades,so it's a bit strange that these reminders are still needed. government is just reinforcing its long-standing position on the world stage .
The message is clear,India will not accept any interference in its internal affairs or on its territorial integrity . But you have to wonder, how many times does the same point have to be made before it sinks in for everyone… it's just getting repetitive .
