Rajasthan Police seems to be on some other level rn . They have frozen assets worth ₹3.92 crore belonging to one infamous drug smuggler Biramchand Lodha and his family. This is not small thing ah.
This whole thing is part of their 'Operation Vajra Prahar' . And the goal is very clear,to completely destroy local drug mafia by hitting them where it hurts most… their wallet .
The police action was executed under Section 68F of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act . And tbh,it’s about time police started focusing on money trail instead of just small-time arrests .
Superintendent of Police Abhishek Andasu said it very clearly . His quote was,"Financial action is proving to be our most effective weapon in eradicating drug trade from its roots."
And honestly, this is only way to really make a dent . You can arrest people, but if the money keeps flowing, someone new will just take their place.
Investigation found Lodha, who lives in Dokri Khoh, was laundering all the drug money through his family members . Assets were in the name of his wife,Phoolabai, and his brother,Rahul Lodha . They checked the bank accounts and found huge transactions but no proper source of income for past year. Very classic move.
Few details are really standing out here:
- Luxury properties seized include two upscale houses and five land plots .
- Police found suspicious bank activities worth a massive ₹2.32 crore .
- Lodha is a repeat offender with three big NDPS Act cases against him already.
And this is not first time they have caught him . Earlier only, they had seized 250 kilograms of Doda Chura worth around ₹10 lakh and one vehicle worth ₹8 lakh from him. So he has been on their radar for long time.
This special joint task force from the SP Office and Sarthal Police Station did a good job for sure .
But it makes you think, how deep does this network really go… and will taking down one guy's empire really stop the whole trade?
