So things are getting really messy in West Bengal politics rn . Looks like Prime Minister Narendra Modi is watching closely as senior BJP leader Tapas Roy is saying Trinamool Congress might just fall apart.
And the whole thing seems to have started after two big legislators,Ritabrata Banerjee and Sandipan Saha,were expelled . Since then,cracks are showing in what was once super dominant party in state.
Tapas Roy even made a social media post around 1:20 PM on Tuesday . In that,he compared the whole situation in Trinamool Congress to what happened in Maharashtra . We all know how that factional split changed everything there .
But his main claim is that TMC is in total disarray because around 50 of the party's 80 MLAs might break away . That is not small thing ah.
And honestly,this is where things get uncomfortable for the party leadership .
According to him,if this group led by Ritabrata goes to Assembly Speaker,Rathindra Bose,they could actually be seen as the majority of legislative team . This would give them protection from anti-defection laws,and they could just operate separately from main party .
