This Shivani case is honestly very disturbing because police had already treated her as murder victim,and now same 26-year-old woman has walked in alive in Madhya Pradesh . Like how does such big mistake even happen in murder case ah?
Shivani was earlier reported missing along with Arun,and complaints were filed by their families at Khaknar police station on May 1 and May 9,respectively . After that,case took dark turn when headless and partially charred body was found under Jalgaon police jurisdiction in Maharashtra.
And police believed that body was Shivani’s . Based on that,her father Bapuram Kalmekar and brother Ajay Kalmekar were arrested on murder charges . Just imagine family being accused in own daughter’s murder while daughter is actually alive somewhere else .
Then on May 28,whole story flipped when Shivani appeared before Burhanpur police . Not only was she alive,but Arun was also alive and with her . This one detail has now put entire earlier investigation under serious question .
Few things standing out clearly in this case:
- No DNA test was done before declaring body as Shivani’s.
- Shivani’s father Bapuram Kalmekar and brother Ajay Kalmekar were arrested on murder charges .
- Shivani came back and demanded release of her family,saying they are innocent .
And tbh,this is not small mistake . Declaring someone dead,identifying body,arresting father and brother for murder… all this without proper forensic confirmation sounds very scary for common people.
Superintendent of Police Ashutosh Bagri also expressed concern over handling of case . He said,"Here Shivani was found alive with Arun, while a murder case was registered in her name in Maharashtra." That line only shows how badly two versions of reality were running at same time .
Burhanpur police have now confirmed that Shivani’s biometrics were used to verify her identity . Jalgaon police have also been informed and they are expected to carry out further investigation to fix situation.
But biggest question is still hanging there . If Shivani is alive,then whose body was found near Jalgaon,and why was family pushed into murder case so quickly…
