Another heartbreaking road accident has come from Madhya Pradesh, and honestly, this one feels even more painful because people were returning after prayers . Four people lost their lives and 41 others were injured near Bijora Tola on Friday, after tractor-trolley carrying devotees overturned.
The accident happened on Anuppur-Umaria district border . Initial reports say vehicle lost control while taking turn on small culvert, and after that there was complete chaos among passengers .
The deceased have been identified as Ghanshyam Gond,Sahbal Baiga,Veer Singh, and Bhupati Singh . All were residents of Gijri village and were part of group returning after offering prayers to ‘Bade Dev’ at the Shani Temple .
And this is where it becomes more tragic . Two people died at spot itself, while two others succumbed to injuries while being taken to hospital . For families waiting at home, this kind of news is just unimaginable .
Few things standing out clearly in this accident:
- Four people died and 41 others were injured near Bijora Tola on Friday .
- Six injured people are in critical condition and have been shifted to Shahdol Government Hospital.
- Preliminary investigation suggests excessive speed may have been factor in accident .
Local residents reportedly acted quickly after accident . They contacted police and also helped shift injured people to Pali Community Health Centre . In such rural stretches, this first response by locals often becomes difference between life and death ah.
Police have now started investigation and are questioning driver and witnesses . They are trying to find out whether negligence, mechanical failure,or speeding caused tractor-trolley to overturn on that small culvert .
But bigger issue is not new at all . Tractor-trolley accidents keep happening in rural Madhya Pradesh, especially during religious events when large groups travel together in one vehicle . Overloading, speed, poor road conditions… same risks repeat again and again .
Authorities have again spoken about following traffic rules and avoiding overloaded vehicles . But after every such tragedy, same warnings come, same grief remains, and one question stays hanging… how many more accidents before something actually changes?
