When Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha,Rahul Gandhi starts directly questioning board’s evaluation and contract process,it is not small thing ah.
This time matter is around CBSE starting re-evaluation process for Class 12 answer sheets, and at same time facing allegations that its selection process was manipulated to benefit company named COEMPT . Whole thing came into focus after 17-year-old student Sarthak Sidhant wrote blog raising these questions.
And that is what makes this case different . It is not just political attack from outside, but student himself putting out details and forcing bigger people to respond . Gandhi then picked up issue on social media and scrutiny around CBSE became louder.
In his post,Rahul Gandhi said,“The details in his blog reveal how CBSE changed the RFP to unduly benefit COEMPT, at cost of TCS.” He also asked,“Who are they protecting, and why?” That question is sharp because it directly points at possible shielding inside system.
Few things standing out clearly in this controversy:
- Gandhi claims CBSE's RFP changes favored COEMPT.
- He has demanded independent investigation into CBSE practices .
- Sarthak Sidhant's blog has highlighted possible flaws in CBSE's evaluation system.
CBSE has denied any wrongdoing, but issue has not gone quiet . Another student,Vedant Shrivastava, also raised concerns about discrepancies in his answer sheet, and after his complaint,CBSE rectified error . That part has only added more fuel to debate about transparency .
And tbh,if one student finds error and board later fixes it,people will obviously ask how many others may not have noticed anything . This is where trust problem begins, especially when digital evaluation system is being questioned for various examinations, including NEET.
Gandhi has also connected this with On Screen Marking (OSM) system, which he says has affected thousands of students . He stated,“An independent judicial inquiry is now essential to uncover the full extent of this scam.” Strong words, but students and parents are already anxious,so such words travel fast.
Now Congress may also use this issue politically in upcoming electoral battles, but for students, main worry is more basic . Are answer sheets being checked properly, are contracts being given fairly, and if re-evaluation is happening now, what exactly went wrong earlier…
