In few hours only, strong winds and heavy rains ended up taking four lives across different places .
Late on May 28,2026,strong winds and heavy rains hit several districts badly, especially Krishna . In Kummarapalem, two young men,Manohar and Shivarama Krishna, were riding motorcycle when tree reportedly fell on them . Both died in that incident .
And this is scary part with severe weather . One moment person is just travelling normally, next moment falling tree or electric wire can turn everything fatal . No warning,no time to react.
Another heartbreaking case came from Lankapalli village where student Anitha died after coming into contact with live wire while she was fetching water . That wire had snapped due to strong winds . Same kind of danger was seen in Vijayawada also, where Home Guard was killed after electricity wire fell on him.
Few things standing out clearly in this situation:
- Officials are working to restore electricity in affected areas, with Minister for Energy Gottipati Ravi Kumar directing efforts to prioritize safety.
- Residents have been urged to remain vigilant and avoid standing under trees or utility poles during adverse weather.
- Strong winds uprooted trees, collapsed hoardings and disrupted vehicular traffic in several districts.
But tbh, these advisories sound simple, still they matter a lot in such weather . People standing under trees for shelter during rain is very common, and that one decision can become dangerous ah.
The State Disaster Management Authority has also said scattered rains, with lightning, are expected to continue in several districts, including East Godavari and Kakinada . Managing director Prakhar Jain has warned residents to stay alert as wind speeds could reach up to 50 km/h .
And at same time, authorities are trying to reduce damage and bring things back to normal, but fear will not go away so easily for families who lost people suddenly . Electricity restoration, clearing roads, safety checks… all this has to happen fast.
Weather has become so unpredictable now that normal rain does not feel normal anymore . One stormy evening and entire community is left counting losses, waiting for next alert, hoping nothing worse happens…
