Punjab politics again has one of those awkward moments where silence between leaders starts speaking louder than official statements . And this time,Bhagwant Mann has picked up on visible split between Kewal Singh Dhillon, the state BJP President, and former Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh.
Mann said Dhillon was earlier seen as close to Amarinder, but now that warmth seems to have gone missing . And honestly, when political friendships cool down like this, people do start asking what happened behind scenes.
He even said,"The reasons for this change are known only to them, and it remains mystery why there is a loss of warmth between the two." That line itself says enough without directly saying too much.
And while speaking to media,Mann also reminded everyone that Amarinder had supported Dhillon during 2019 Lok Sabha elections . That past support now looks very different because current equation between both leaders appears strained .
But Mann did not stop at their personal political distance only . He connected this with BJP's overall situation in Punjab, saying party has taken major setbacks, especially in recent civic body elections where it was pushed to fifth-place finish.
Few things Mann tried to underline here:
- BJP now ranks behind AAP,Congress, and Akalis in public perception.
- He predicted AAP would comfortably form next government with public support.
- He accused Opposition of failing to present positive agenda, leading to declining support.
Mann said this result shows people have rejected BJP's negative agenda . That is strong political messaging ah,because he is not just talking about one election result,he is trying to frame whole BJP presence in Punjab as weakening.
At same time,he claimed AAP's pro-people policies have received immense support . He also suggested Opposition is struggling to accept defeat and unable to reconcile with electorate's decision.
And according to him,AAP's consistent victories in different electoral contests show public faith in their governance . Still, between Dhillon-Amarinder equation,BJP's civic body performance, and Mann's confidence, there is clearly more political tension waiting to come out…
