This Gurjar community issue in Rajasthan is again showing how much anger has been sitting under surface for long time . On May 30 ,Gurjar leader Vijay Singh Bainsla made it very clear that political leaders should stop looking at community as mere vote bank .
He was speaking at ceremony after statues were installed at Kushali Darra . And honestly, his message was not soft at all. He said Gurjar sentiments cannot be ignored like before, and community deserves respect, not just attention during election time.
But then whole event became even more tense after one video surfaced online . In that video,Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Jitendra Gothwal was allegedly seen being manhandled by crowd after statue installation.
The footage showed Gothwal being taken to safety by his Personal Security Officer while tensions were rising around him . Not small thing ah,especially when such moment happens at community event where emotions are already high.
Bainsla linked this incident with bigger dissatisfaction inside Gurjar community . According to him, frustration has been building for over two years because political leaders have neglected them and not taken their issues seriously.
Few things standing out from this whole episode:
- Vijay Singh Bainsla said Gurjar community should not be treated as commodity for votes .
- He urged politicians across Rajasthan to engage genuinely, not through superficial gestures .
- He recalled Colonel Kirori Singh Bainsla and his role in empowering community to think critically and protect their interests.
And tbh, this is where politics becomes uncomfortable. Leaders often remember communities during rallies, statue events and vote calculations, but when people start asking for respect and accountability, suddenly everything looks “tense”.
Bainsla also said Gothwal’s presence at gathering was unwelcome . On other side,MLA Jitendra Gothwal defended himself, saying he had come to honor community and was committed to serving their interests. He also said he was ready to support Gurjar community, regardless of circumstances, and mentioned democratic right to protest.
At same time, this whole incident feels like warning signal for Rajasthan politics . Gurjar community is clearly not in mood to stay silent if they feel exploited or ignored .
And now question is simple only… will political leaders actually listen this time,or again wait till anger comes out in public like this?
