So looks like big preparations are happening in Gujarat for PM Narendra Modi's visit on June 5 . And honestly, the scale of this whole thing is quite massive .
State officials are working overtime to get everything ready . Deputy Chief Minister,Harsh Sanghavi, and Finance Minister Kanu Desai held a meeting just to check all arrangements and logistics for the visit.
And the main reason for all this activity is the inauguration and foundation laying for projects worth around ₹18,000 crore in Surat and Daman . That's not small amount ah.
The Prime Minister's schedule seems pretty packed . He will first arrive in Surat, visit an industrial facility in Hazira area and then attend a public program at some indoor stadium.
But the Daman part is also getting a lot of attention . Modi is set to inaugurate a new civilian airport there, which is right next to the Indian Coast Guard airstrip. This project cost about ₹97 crore and is expected to connect Daman better with cities like Delhi,Mumbai, and Ahmedabad .
Few things standing out clearly from the plan:
- New airport inauguration — Modi to inaugurate a civilian airport in Daman.
- Major infrastructure projects — Several projects worth ₹18,000 crore will be launched.
- Public address scheduled — Modi will address a gathering at Swami Vivekananda Ground.
And it's not just the airport only . He will also inaugurate the Marwad Government Hospital which is near airport, which should improve healthcare access for people in the region .
And tbh,it's clear this visit is a big statement about development for South Gujarat and Daman.
Both Surat and Daman authorities have stepped up all administrative and security preparations to make sure the visit goes smoothly . This is another major event for Modi in his home state, showing a focus on growth .
With so much money and so many new projects coming up,you just wonder how quickly things will change on ground for everyone living there…
