CUET-UG 2026 already carries so much pressure, and then technical glitch delaying exam at several centres on May 30 is not small thing ah.
National Testing Agency (NTA) has now officially revised timings for Common University Entrance Test (CUET-UG) 2026 after disruption happened during exam commencement. NTA said issue came from its service provider,Tata Consultancy Services (TCS),which reported problem that stopped exam from starting on time at many centres.
Now NTA is saying glitch has been rectified and exams are continuing with full compensatory time. Means students should not lose exam duration just because system failed, which is basic fairness only .
For afternoon session, new reporting and entry time starts from 2:30 PM,and examination will begin at 4:00 PM instead of earlier scheduled 3:00 PM . That one-hour shift may sound simple from outside, but for students and parents waiting at centres,it can create real stress.
Few things students should note here:
- Technical glitch has been resolved,as per NTA.
- Afternoon session will now start at 4 PM.
- Full compensatory time will be given to candidates .
And tbh,NTA expressing regret is fine, but students sitting there during uncertainty must have gone through lot of anxiety. Morning session candidates will also be allowed to complete their papers fully, with no reduction in time .
CUET is big deal now because it is used by students across India for undergraduate admissions in different universities, including all Central universities. For many rural and remote area students, this exam is one major route to higher education,so even small technical issue can feel very unfair .
Registration for CUET-UG 2026 began in early April . In 2025,over 13.54 lakh students registered for exam, which shows how much weight this test now carries for families across country.
But when exam depends so much on technology, then reliability also has to match that pressure . Because for students, one delayed login or one system error can feel like future itself is hanging there…
