So the political drama in West Bengal is just getting more and more intense rn . Mamata Banerjee is on a sit-in protest now,and honestly,it's creating a full-on war of words between all the parties .
Her protest is apparently against alleged attacks on her Trinamool Congress (TMC) members . And also about hawkers being evicted from railway lands . So she's trying to highlight these two big issues.
But the reaction from other parties is completely opposite . You have the Congress party which is openly supporting her. They are saying it is her constitutional right to do peaceful protest.
Congress MP Pramod Tiwari even gave a statement to IANS defending her . He said her demonstration is a totally legitimate exercise of democratic rights. He also pointed out that violence against TMC leaders like Abhishek Banerjee and Kalyan Banerjee is really bad sign for politics.
And this is where you can see the strategy ah . Congress is clearly trying to team up with Banerjee against BJP .
But then you have BJP,and they are just dismissing whole thing completely . They are calling it ineffective and saying it just shows Trinamool's support is going down.
BJP leader Praveen Khandelwal basically said Banerjee's protest doesn't connect with public at all . He feels TMC is facing anger from people because of its governance and needs to take responsibility for losing in recent Assembly elections. He said she seems disheartened and is just doing political theatrics .
