So the whole CBSE exam mess is just getting bigger and bigger now . And it has become full political issue, with Congress leader Jairam Ramesh now demanding resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
This whole thing exploded on June 2,2026,when Ramesh went on X and started questioning everything . It seems the Centre transferred some key CBSE officials, like Chairman Rahul Singh and Secretary Himanshu Gupta, but Ramesh says that's not enough.
And honestly, this is where things get uncomfortable.
The big problem seems to be some controversial contract between CBSE and an ed-tech firm called Coempt Edu Teck . Ramesh is pointing out that transfers and setting up a one-member committee to look into the On Screen Marking (OSM) system just proves something is very wrong .
But what's really interesting is that it was students who brought this whole thing out . Ramesh praised them for exposing the scandal during session with the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Education, which is chaired by Digvijaya Singh.
Few things standing out clearly in this case:
- Whistleblower Sarthak Sidhant's testimony showed evidence of tender irregularities he had flagged before.
- Ramesh criticized the government's actions as just attempt to shift blame from politicians to bureaucrats.
- Student complaints of evaluation discrepancies were widespread, with issues of mismatched answer sheets.
And Ramesh was very direct with his words,he said,"The Mantri Pradhan has been presiding over a monumentally corrupt, inept, and incompetent ecosystem that has played havoc with the lives of lakhs of youth. He needs to resign immediately." That's a strong statement ah .
The entire controversy really caught fire after a student named Vedant Shrivastava shared his story of getting incorrect answer sheet . That post sparked so much outrage online and raised serious questions about CBSE's transparency.
Now it's just a political slugfest . One side blaming the other .
But in all this fighting, what about the students? Their futures are on the line, and they are the ones dealing with all this stress and uncertainty…
