Looks like CM Chandrababu Naidu is planning something huge for Godavari Pushkaralu-2027 . This is not just about festival,it feels like complete rebranding of the region .
During a review meeting on June 2,he was very clear about his vision . He wants this event to highlight the spiritual and historical side of Andhra Pradesh, and use it to boost spiritual tourism and local economies .
And one major commitment here is finishing the Polavaram Project before event starts . That's a very ambitious deadline, but if they pull it off,it will be massive for the state.
CM Naidu is also talking about something called the Akhanda Godavari Corridor, from Dhavaleswaram to Polavaram . The idea is to create permanent tourism asset, not just temporary structures that get dismantled later. I actually like this thinking. Infrastructure should last long after crowds go home and help Rajamahendravaram grow .
And tbh,the numbers they are preparing for are just mind-boggling. We are talking about nearly double the crowd from 2003 event .
Just look at some of these figures:
- 10 crore pilgrims are expected, which is a crazy number to manage.
- Total of 525 ghats across six districts, with 237 being new constructions to handle the rush .
- They are coordinating with Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for special trains and financial support .
To handle this rush, they are even thinking of Kumbh Mela-style tent cities and promoting homestays . This is smart planning, because hotels alone can never manage this kind of influx . Also focusing on better road connectivity between Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada is very important for people coming from rural areas .
And they are bringing in technology too . APSAC and RTGS will be creating advanced crowd management systems. Good to see them thinking about safety from the beginning only. A dedicated website for the Akhanda Godavari Pushkaralu-2027 is also coming soon.
The final action plan is due by June 24,so official countdown has basically started .
The vision is really big,no doubt about it ah . But planning is one thing, and executing something on this scale is a whole different challenge…
