This Bihar drug seizure is not small thing ah. Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has seized 104.9 kg of ganja (cannabis) and arrested two individuals, and honestly, these numbers show how active these supply chains still are.
Operation happened on Saturday in Bihar . The two accused were caught for alleged involvement in illicit trade and were apprehended under relevant provisions of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act,1985 .
And this is not one isolated action only. DRI has said that in past year alone,it has seized narcotic drugs valued at nearly ₹46.5 crore in illicit market. That includes 1,277.81 kg of ganja and 107.5 kg of charas.
Few things standing out clearly here:
- DRI seized 104.9 kg of ganja (cannabis) in Bihar.
- Two individuals were arrested under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act,1985 .
- In past year,DRI reported narcotic drug seizures worth nearly ₹46.5 crore.
And tbh, when numbers like 1,277.81 kg of ganja come up,it becomes hard to see this as small-time smuggling. This looks like bigger network problem, where movement, storage and transport are all being handled in organised way .
At same time,DRI also carried out separate raid in Kerala, where over 24 kg of various narcotics were seized, including methaqualone and hashish oil. So this is not limited to one state or one route .
What makes this more worrying is how traffickers are reportedly using passenger baggage and courier consignments to move drugs. Normal travel channels,normal-looking parcels, and behind that, entire illegal supply chain running quietly.
DRI says these actions are part of push toward 'Nasha Mukt Bharat' (Drug-Free India). Good aim,no doubt. But ground reality feels much more complicated when every big seizure also hints that lot more may already be moving undetected.
And that is uncomfortable part . If 104.9 kg in Bihar and over 24 kg in Kerala are getting caught now, then how much is still slipping through before anyone even notices…
