Key Takeaways

  • Shivakumar defers ministerial swearing-in decision
  • Foundation stone for Congress Bhavan planned
  • Limited guest attendance due to space constraints

But D.K. Shivakumar, the Chief Minister-designate of Karnataka,is clearly not giving away anything from his side.

When reporters asked him about ministers taking oath, his answer was very straight. He said,"I do not know about that. The party high command will take a decision. I do not wish to comment on the matter." And honestly, that says enough about how Congress is handling this internally.

Basically, decision is with Congress high command, not something Shivakumar wants to speak on publicly rn . In party politics, this kind of silence also tells its own story only .

He was speaking after inspecting site for new Congress Bhavan near Race Course Road . From what he said, foundation stone-laying ceremony for this new office building will likely happen right after swearing-in ceremony.

Few things standing out from this update:

  • Limited attendance due to space constraints, only invited guests will be allowed .
  • Bhoomi puja planned for new Congress Bhavan after swearing-in.
  • LED screens for viewing will be arranged at Congress office for party leaders.

And tbh, invite list itself sounds very controlled. Shivakumar said invitations will go to block and district Congress presidents,MLAs,former MLAs and different organizational heads. But general public will not be allowed because space is limited .

At same time, there is still suspense over bigger Congress faces. AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi are yet to confirm attendance for event, which naturally adds more waiting and guessing inside party circles.

Shivakumar also confirmed that swearing-in will happen at Lok Bhavan. Reason given is simple enough,to avoid inconvenience for Bengaluru residents and prevent traffic congestion because of too many vehicles coming in.

And honestly, this “simple manner” line is interesting ah. On one side,it is swearing-in of new government ministers,on other side party is trying to keep it controlled, limited and without too much public crowd.

But real question is still same only, who finally gets place in cabinet and who is left waiting after June 3 …
