Some pretty big news coming from defence side,DRDO and IAF have again done something major . They successfully tested the new RudraM-II missile from a Sukhoi Su-30 MKI aircraft.
And this test was conducted at interim firing range in Chandipur,Odisha . Apparently they tested it under "extreme release conditions" which sounds very serious.
But the main thing is,officials are saying test met all its objectives . missile was guided to its target with exceptional accuracy, which is exactly what you want to hear .
And honestly, this is a big step for our self-reliance in defence.
This whole missile is developed by Research Centre Imarat in Hyderabad, with help from other DRDO labs like Defence Research and Development Laboratory and High Energy Materials Research Laboratory . It's a proper team effort. Even Defence Minister Rajnath Singh commended DRDO,IAF and everyone involved in making this test a success .
Few things about this RudraM-II missile are very impressive:
- It can reach speeds of up to Mach 5.5 and engage targets at ranges of 300 km.
- It has an advanced guidance system for very accurate strikes against enemy assets .
- It's designed to be a force multiplier for IAF,replacing older Russian missiles.
And this is not just some small upgrade ah . The RudraM-II will gradually replace the older Russian-origin Kh-31 anti-radiation missiles which we have been using for long time. So this is a proper indigenous replacement.
The technology inside is also very sophisticated . It has a hybrid guidance system with Inertial Navigation System (INS),GPS,and a passive homing seeker. This basically means it can detect and track radio-frequency emissions from enemy radar and air-defence systems and go straight for them.
With all these successful tests happening,it feels like our indigenous defence tech is really moving fast now… makes you think what else is in pipeline…
