So some very interesting political stuff is happening in Tamil Nadu rn . Senior Congress leader P. Chidambaram just met with CM C. Joseph Vijay at State Secretariat,and of course,everyone is talking about it .
And this meeting is not just some casual chat ah . It's happening right after Election Commission announced a bye-election for Rajya Sabha seat. This seat got vacant because the AIADMK member C. Ve. Shanmugam resigned to join the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly.
The whole thing is about numbers now . The Congress party has only five MLAs in the Tamil Nadu Assembly. To get this Rajya Sabha seat,they absolutely need the support of the ruling TVK-led alliance. It makes sense because after the Assembly elections,Congress did extend its support to TVK government.
And honestly,this meeting is clearly about that only.
P . Chidambaram going to meet CM Vijay is seen as a direct move to tell him that Congress high command is very interested in this vacant seat . They are trying to see if deal can be worked out.

CM Vijay still has to talk with his own senior TVK leaders and other alliance partners before making any final call . So no official candidate from Congress has been announced yet.
The big question everyone is asking is,will TVK nominate its own person,or will they support a candidate from Congress or another ally… who knows what will happen now .
