So this whole political situation in Bengal is getting very intense now . Looks like Congress has come out and publicly backed Mamata Banerjee's sit-in protest .
The protest is apparently over alleged violence against TMC leaders and also because hawkers were evicted from railway lands . And Congress MP Pramod Tiwari is saying her protest is constitutional right.
He is saying peaceful protest is fundamental part of democracy . And tbh,he has point there.
But he also made some serious claims . He highlighted recent attacks on TMC leaders,like brutal assault on TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee . Tiwari is calling it a calculated attack against TMC under current BJP government . He said many party offices have been vandalized which is not small thing ah.
And honestly,this is where things get uncomfortable. This level of aggression in politics is just not right.
Few key things from both sides:
- Congress is defending Mamata's protest as a democratic right and highlighting violence against TMC .
- BJP is calling it all political theatrics and says it's because of TMC's election defeat.
- Both sides are basically blaming each other for the current situation.
And of course,BJP has completely different story . They are dismissing her protest and saying it is all because of her disillusionment after losing recent Assembly elections.
BJP MP Praveen Khandelwal said Banerjee is engaging in political theatrics instead of looking at governance issues . He said public's dissatisfaction will not be swayed by these demonstrations. Another BJP leader,Locket Chatterjee,also criticized TMC for its past governance failures.
She claimed that TMC's diminishing support base is evident and party is struggling now . So BJP is trying to frame this as TMC's own internal problem .
It's just becoming one big blame game between parties . One side says it's attack on democracy,the other side says it's just drama to hide failures.
And in middle of all this,what is public supposed to think… who is telling the real story here…
