Okay,so some pretty serious high-level tech talk happened between India and Germany on June 2,2026 . Our minister Jitendra Singh met with Mario Voigt, who is Minister-President of Germany’s Free State of Thuringia.
And discussion was all about future-level stuff like quantum communication, photonics, and deep-tech innovation. Apparently this Thuringia region is becoming major hub for these things,so this meeting makes sense.
Both sides seem to be looking for long-term partnerships. focus is not just on research only, but on how to take that research and make actual products that can be sold.
Jitendra Singh highlighted what India is doing with its National Quantum Mission, which is a big deal for creating secure communication. Every country wants to be ahead in this race rn .
But it wasn't just about quantum ah. They also talked lot about space cooperation. This is not new area for them,India has already launched eleven German satellites,so the foundation is already there .
Few things they really focused on:
- Enhanced collaboration in quantum technologies like quantum communication and optical ground stations.
- Strengthening space cooperation and building on the existing partnership between ISRO and German Aerospace Centre.
- Innovation ecosystems connection to link up research institutions and startups from both countries.
Singh also shared details about other big Indian programs like the National Green Hydrogen Mission and the IndiaAI Mission, showing that we are serious about research and innovation-led growth .
And honestly, this is where things get interesting.
It’s not just about governments working together. They specifically talked about India's new policy reforms that are encouraging private companies and startups to get into the space economy. This is a huge shift.
All these meetings and big mission names sound great on paper of course . But you always wonder how much of this talk will actually translate into real breakthroughs and jobs down the line…
