Wow,the plans for Godavari Pushkaralu 2027 are looking massive already . Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu seems determined to make it a global event, not just state-level festival.
During a high-level review on June 2,he apparently instructed officials to showcase state's spiritual and historical legacy on world stage . The idea is that Godavari river basin is a huge pilgrimage hub,so this is chance to boost spiritual tourism and help local economy.
And a huge part of this plan revolves around Polavaram Project . Naidu has said it will be finished and dedicated to nation before Pushkaralu begins . That itself would be a massive achievement and big attraction for visitors .
But it's not just about the dam . They are planning something called Akhanda Godavari Corridor which will stretch from Dhavaleswaram to the project site itself . CM sees this as a permanent asset that will help turn Rajamahendravaram into proper metropolitan city .
And tbh,the numbers they are preparing for are just mind-boggling.
- Nearly 9.95 crore devotees are expected for holy dip .
- Ghat length will be more than doubled from 4.5 km to 9.9 km.
- 237 new ghats planned to be added to existing 288.
To handle this massive crowd,he has directed officials to number all ghats for better management . Also asking for better connectivity through national highways and railways . He even mentioned reaching out to Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for special trains and central funding.
And this is where things get really ambitious . They are planning Kumbh Mela-style tent cities and even homestays to accommodate everyone. This is not small thing ah.
Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan's recommendations from his recent visits are also being included in the master plan . They've even set a deadline of June 24 for the final action plan to be submitted,so things are moving fast .
Technology is also going to play big role . TTD and RTGS are collaborating on advanced crowd management systems and there will be a dedicated website for whole event .
It’s not just about new construction only . CM also called for beautification of river embankments and even renovating Kandukuri Veeresalingam’s residence . So it's a mix of spiritual celebration and honoring social reform history.
The vision is huge, but pulling it all together across six districts is real test… it's one thing to plan on paper, but execution for 10 crore people is another challenge entirely.
