Because when students are already stressed about marks, answer sheets and deadlines, last thing they need is portal trouble or data worries .
As of June 1, 2026,students in Class 12 will be able to submit applications for verification and re-evaluation of answer sheets through OnMark portal . CBSE says its cybersecurity experts are watching system closely so process does not become messy for students.
CBSE also said,“We have been closely monitoring the vulnerabilities in the OnMark portal of our service provider that are being flagged in the public domain.” And that line itself shows there were enough concerns being discussed outside also, not just inside official rooms.
To handle this,CBSE has deployed expert team of cybersecurity professionals from various government sectors and institutions like IITs . Their job is to strengthen system and move it to more secure setup,so student data and applications stay protected .
Few things students should know rn:
- Approximately four lakh students have accessed around 11 lakh scanned answer sheets via portal.
- Students can reach out to the CBSE Tele-Counselling Helpline for assistance .
- Citizens are being encouraged to report any vulnerabilities for quick rectification .
And tbh, this citizen and ethical hacker part is interesting . CBSE has thanked alert citizens and ethical hackers who already pointed out weaknesses, and Board says it is willing to engage with people giving constructive feedback.
But students also need to remember one very specific rule here . Re-evaluation option is available only for those who have received scanned copies of evaluated answer sheets . After applications come in,subject experts will check questions and change marks if discrepancy is found .
Past technical glitches had already forced repeated deadline extensions for revaluation applications . So this time, pressure is clearly on CBSE to make portal work properly from start only.
And for students waiting anxiously, this whole thing is more than technical update . It is about trust in marks, trust in system and trust that one portal issue will not affect their next step…
