Andhra Pradesh government has disbursed ₹110.77 crore to assist 1.64 lakh farmers in Annamayya district, and for farming families dealing with rising input costs, that amount is not small thing ah.
This was announced during launch of ‘Annadatha Sukhibhava-PM Kisan’ program on June 20, 2026 . Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu were present virtually, showing both state and central governments trying to push farmer welfare together.
During event,Minister for Transport,Sports and Youth Services Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy spoke to farmers and highlighted coalition government's initiatives to reduce cultivation costs through various subsidies . And honestly, that part matters because fertilizer, seeds, labour, electricity… everything has become heavy burden for farmers .
Nearly ₹18 crore from latest installment was allocated to approximately 34,000 farmers in Rayachoti constituency . That targeted support sounds useful, but farmers will judge it by how fast money reaches them and whether it actually helps before next cultivation expenses hit.
Few things standing out clearly here:
- ₹110.77 crore has been disbursed to assist 1.64 lakh farmers in Annamayya district.
- Nearly ₹18 crore from latest installment went to approximately 34,000 farmers in Rayachoti constituency .
- Proposals worth ₹124 crore have been approved to enhance drinking water supply in Rayachoti.
But money is one side, and water is another big headache . Officials have been urged to promote micro-irrigation and horticulture crops because below-normal rainfall is anticipated this season . That warning itself tells us farmers may have tough months ahead.
Collector Nishant Kumar also attended launch and spoke about water conservation, asking farmers to reduce reliance on borewell irrigation and focus more on sustainable agricultural practices . Tbh,this is easier said than done because many farmers depend on borewells simply because there is no other reliable option.
State government has also approved development projects worth ₹124 crore to improve drinking water supply in Rayachoti . Market yards and water conservation projects are also being prioritized for long-term agricultural support, which is needed if government wants help to go beyond one installment.
And still, main question is same . Will these schemes,subsidies,micro-irrigation push and water projects reach farmers in practical way before rainfall problem becomes bigger…
