After earlier test got cancelled due to question paper leak, trust factor was already badly shaken .
Registered candidates started reaching different centers across India for re-test,and this time National Testing Agency (NTA) clearly went heavy on security . Thorough frisking, identity document verification at examination venues, more checking everywhere… students could feel difference from start only.
NTA also reminded candidates through social media that entry would be allowed only between 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. . And honestly, that early arrival warning makes sense because traffic stress plus exam stress is terrible combination, especially for NEET students .
Exam itself is scheduled from 2:00 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. ,which means candidates are getting additional 15 minutes compared to previous tests . This year, exam is being held in 5,440 centers across 551 cities in India and 14 centers abroad, with language options including English and 12 Indian languages.
Few things standing out this time:
- Over 95,000 examination rooms are equipped with CCTV cameras, with total of 1,38,560 cameras installed nationwide and monitored virtually.
- Enhanced security measures include CCTV and jammers to prevent malpractice.
- Support for candidates included water and coolers, unlike previous exams.
But tbh,no amount of CCTV can fully erase what students already went through mentally . Re-exam means again revising, again travelling, again sitting under same pressure because earlier system failed somewhere.
Students also seemed mixed emotionally . One candidate,Kishan, said security was much tighter this time and added,“I just want to write exam and hope it’s conducted fairly,” . That line says lot ah,because after leak issue, fairness itself became main demand .
Another candidate,Sonia, said she felt more stressed than during original test, but appreciated improved arrangements this time . She also said that if such measures had been there earlier, situation could have been different . In Odisha,Parthasarathi Raut sounded determined to perform well and secure place in medical college.
Meanwhile,Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan addressed candidates at a yoga event and asked them to stay calm, confident and positive . He also expressed trust in NTA and local authorities for smooth conduct of examination .
And still, for many students, this is not just one more exam day . It is about whether system can actually protect their hard work after everything that happened…
