On June 21,2026,rain and light drizzle were there, but enthusiasm did not seem to reduce much.
At Balaji Junction, which was main venue for celebrations,Collector S. Ram Sundar Reddy along with Joint Collector Sedhu Madhavan and other officials performed yoga asanas . That visual itself says something,no? Officials and public doing same activity early morning, even in drizzle.
Hundreds of people from different age groups reportedly came early morning only to take part in yoga sessions under trained experts . And tbh, that kind of turnout during rain is not small thing ah.
Collector S. Ram Sundar Reddy also sounded genuinely happy with community response . He spoke about how yoga helps health and happiness, and said,“Continuous practice of yoga asanas enables everyone to be fit and lead a happy life.”
Few things standing out clearly from this celebration:
- Strong community participation — Hundreds gathered to practice yoga, showcasing collective well-being.
- Official support from district leaders — High-ranking officials participated, reinforcing importance of yoga.
- Positive weather conditions — Slight drizzle turned into refreshing experience for attendees .
And weather part is interesting because recent heat had already pushed temperatures to 38 degrees Celsius . So this cooler morning with slight drizzle actually became blessing for many people instead of problem .
This yoga mood was not limited to Vizianagaram also . Nearby Srikakulam saw good participation too, where Collector Swapnil Dinakar Pundkar oversaw yoga sessions at Dutch building . He also awarded certificates to several yoga instructors and outstanding students, which is good encouragement for local community.
But what stands out most is how people did not treat rain like excuse . They still came, practiced together and made event feel more like community gathering than just official programme.
And maybe that is real point of Yoga Day only . Not just one morning photo or speech, but whether people actually carry this habit into daily life after event is over…
