One really heartbreaking accident has come out from near Rajapalayam where wedding celebration turned into total tragedy on night of June 20,2026 . Two people lost their lives and 58 others were injured,which is honestly not small thing ah .
Victims have been identified as A. Selvam (55) and K. Kamatchi (50). They were among guests travelling in private bus from Kunnoor to Ilanthiraikondan for bride's ceremony when whole incident happened.
As per reports,bus was being driven by Gopalakrishnan (28). Shortly after leaving,just two kilometers from bride's residence,the vehicle lost control while taking sharp turn on narrow road . Around 10:30 PM,it veered off course and plunged into irrigation tank.
And this is where anger also comes in. Eyewitnesses reportedly said bus was travelling at high speed when accident happened. On rural roads,narrow turns and speed together can become deadly in seconds only.
Few facts standing out in this accident:

- 58 injured,victims were rushed to Government hospital in Rajapalayam for treatment.
- Local police and citizens started rescue operations immediately to save injured people.
Rescue efforts were launched quickly,with local authorities and residents working together to pull injured people out from wreckage . Those hurt were taken to Government hospital in Rajapalayam where they received urgent medical attention. Some injuries were more serious and needed extensive treatment.
Social Welfare Minister K. Jegadeshwari visited hospital after accident to check situation and meet victims' families. N.O. Sukhaputra,the District Collector,and Gautam Goyal,the Superintendent of Police,were also present there and met injured people.
But beyond official visits,this accident again brings back same uncomfortable question about public transport safety in rural areas. Private buses carrying wedding guests,late night travel,narrow roads,possible speed issue… everything becomes risky when basic caution is missing.
And honestly,for families who left for wedding function and ended up inside hospital or mourning loved ones,what explanation will ever feel enough…
