This is honestly big political move in West Bengal rn,with Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari preparing to bring in 35 new ministers in one cabinet expansion . After BJP's win over Trinamool Congress on May 4,this feels like first major attempt to show full control of government machinery .
And swearing-in is scheduled for June 1 at Lok Bhavan . Not small thing ah,because after this,total number of ministers will go up to 41,including Chief Minister.
Suvendu Adhikari also announced it on social media and wrote,“Tomorrow,the full Cabinet of the nationalist government elected by the people of West Bengal is going to be formed.” That line itself shows BJP is trying to send political message,not just administrative one.
But numbers also matter here . As per constitutional provisions,no state can have more than 15% of total strength of Assembly as ministers . In 294-member West Bengal Assembly,maximum limit comes to 44 ministers,so 41 is very close to that ceiling only.

After oath-taking ceremony,Chief Minister Adhikari is expected to allocate portfolios to new ministers . But he has not revealed specific names of the 208 victorious BJP MLAs who may be inducted,so suspense is still there.
And honestly,this is where politics becomes tricky . Giving every district voice sounds good,but managing ambition inside such big victory can become harder than winning election itself…
