One big spiritual-cultural event happened in Bengaluru on May 29, 2026,and honestly,it looks like Art of Living tried to make its 45th anniversary more than just celebration . Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan launched five national initiatives at their International Centre in Bengaluru, same event also marking 70th birthday of Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar .
And this is not small thing ah,because Art of Living is not limited to one city or one country anymore . During his speech,Vice President Radhakrishnan spoke about its reach in 182 countries and said,"Today is a celebration of great vision that has touched millions of lives across continents."
He also focused on one idea which sounds simple but is actually difficult in today’s world — inner peace before outer harmony . With so much conflict, tension and anger everywhere, this kind of message may sound soft, but maybe that softness is what people are missing rn.
The five national initiatives were launched as part of anniversary event, but details highlighted included these:
- Youth Career Excellence Programme — aimed at enhancing skills and opportunities for young people .
- Faculty of Eastern Knowledge Systems — focuses on integrating ancient wisdom with modern education.
- Eco Shanti — promotes sustainability and environmental consciousness .
And tbh,the mix is interesting . One side youth careers and modern education, other side ancient wisdom, meditation and environment . It feels like organization is trying to connect old knowledge with present-day problems, without keeping spirituality only inside prayer halls .
Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, while welcoming Vice President, spoke about how meditation is now being seen globally as need for well-being . He said,"Let us dream of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, one world family free from fear, tension, and hatred," and that line clearly became emotional point of event .
But at same time, big gatherings like this also show how much influence Art of Living has built over years . Political leaders, business magnates and cultural icons were present, and month-long celebration had meditations, cultural performances and discussions on mental well-being.
And maybe that is where real question sits quietly . In world full of noise, stress and division, can these messages of peace actually move beyond stage speeches and reach daily life of ordinary people…
