This Chennai case is genuinely disturbing because one small fight at private bar somehow turned into death of 18-year-old Sri Lankan refugee Yancy . And honestly,it is scary how fast youth arguments are becoming full violent situations now.
Yancy and her friends were reportedly spending evening at bar in Chennai when dispute started with another group of young men . Police reports say security personnel stepped in inside bar and tried to calm things down before it became bigger.
But once everyone came outside,same tension reportedly started again . Bouncers had to separate both groups and asked them to leave premises . That should have been end of matter,no? But sadly,it did not stop there .
Later that night,Yancy and her friends were travelling on two-wheeler when they allegedly came across rival group again,this time in car . Preliminary investigations suggest heated words were exchanged,and stones were thrown at car.
Few things standing out clearly in this case:
- Yancy,an 18-year-old Sri Lankan refugee,died after car occupants allegedly pursued and rammed into her two-wheeler.
- A 17-year-old girl who was with Yancy suffered severe injuries and is currently hospitalized.
- Police investigation is ongoing,and authorities are searching for other suspects involved in incident .
And tbh,this is where whole thing becomes even more senseless . Police say impact was so bad that Yancy was thrown onto road and she succumbed to her injuries at scene . Her friend is still undergoing treatment for serious injuries .
Yancy's family has now demanded strict action against everyone involved . That anger is understandable only,because what started as bar dispute and ego clash ended with one young life gone.
Local authorities have also sealed bar where incident began,as there are allegations that underage individuals may have been allowed entry . That part also needs proper checking ah,because if minors were inside,then this is not small thing at all.
