For NEET-UG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) candidates, this kind of travel arrangement is honestly big relief . Exam is already stressful enough, and then reaching centre on time becomes another headache only .
Now Southern Railway has announced special train services and help desks for NEET-UG scheduled for June 20,2026 . These arrangements are being made across key stations in Salem Division, covering Salem,Erode,Tiruppur,Coimbatore,Udhagamandalam,Namakkal, and Karur districts .
And this is actually practical move, because on exam day even small delay can create full panic at home . Parents are tense, students are tense, roads get crowded, and railway station confusion adds extra pressure.
As per announcement, special train from Chinna Salem to Salem Junction,Train no. 06157,will leave at 10 a.m . and reach Salem Junction by 11:20 a.m. . It will stop at important places including Attur,Yethapur Road, and Minnampalli.
Another service,Tirupattur to Salem Junction,Train no. 06158,will depart at 7:45 a.m. and arrive by 10:15 a.m . . This one will also have multiple stops on route so candidates from different areas can use it.
Few arrangements standing out here:
- Help desks will be available at Salem Junction,Erode Junction,Tiruppur Station,Coimbatore Junction,Udagamandalam Station,Namakkal Station,and Karur Junction.
- Traffic regulation will be done at major level crossings to avoid congestion on examination day.
- Divisional Control Office will monitor train services for punctual running .
Railway staff will also be present to guide students, including Commercial Supervisors and RPF personnel . Scouts and Guides are also being deployed, which may sound small, but when student is confused inside crowded station, one person giving correct direction can make big difference ah.
And tbh, these are exactly kind of arrangements needed during exams like NEET-UG . Not some big speech, just basic support like trains on time, help desk at right place, and less traffic chaos near crossings .
At same time, real test will be on June 20, 2026 itself . Announcement looks good, but students and parents will finally judge it by one thing only, whether they reached exam centre calmly and on time…
